Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan have been working collaboratively since 1995. Their work takes the form of performances, sculptures, events and texts and is concerned with investigating the status, role and function of art. Over the last 15 years they have presented their work internationally and nationally and in 2005 they represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale. Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Direct serious action is therefore necessary’, CCA, Glasgow (2010); ‘You can take is as a thing or you can take it as a thing’, La Salle de Bains, Lyon (2009) and ‘Are you feeling our meaning?’, Galerie Francesca Pia, Zurich (2008). Recent group shows include ‘N’importe Quoi’, Musee d’art contemporaine, Lyon (2009); ‘Depression’, Marres Centre for Contemporary Art, Maastricht (2009) and ‘The Great Transformation’, Frankfurter Kunstverein (2008). A monograph on their work was published by DuMont Cologne in 2007. They currently work as Research Fellows at Grays School of Art, RGU, Aberdeen and are represented by The Modern Institute in Glasgow.
